Checking your fuel levels is simple, but the whole display with its huge white dials are annoying and inconvenient. The instrument panel its well designed either. The air conditioning button is huge which is good, but the air conditioing is very noisy. To adjust the air flow and temperature you need to use big dial thingys which I dont think you could do safely when moving.Sound from the speakers is poor and radio/CD is not easy to use. The drivers seats are not big, actually look quite narrow, they are also hard but it is a new car and they are still fairly comfortable.Im guessing this car is cheap to run, insure and tax, but the feel of the car is also cheap. I am disappointed at the amount of cheap looking plastic used. The doors look like they are from a car made in the 80's, there is no nice carpeting, or paneling, you can see the coloured metal on the inside. The back seats are big enough for small children but taller adults would feel uncomfortable. The boot is ok, but your weekly supermarket shop would probably need to spill into the back seat.It does drive well, very nippy, fantastic to park, gear changes are quick and easy, handling is better than the Yaris and suspension is good. Its gets to 40 miles per hour easily, above that it needs to be pushed and you need to get into 5th gear early or you sound like a jet engine!If this car was cheaper I would say its a bargain, and great for those looking for style, looks, safety and reliability on a budget, but I just think its not enough for the money. If its a run about or first car and you can haggle on the price then it might suit you. Advantages: Cheap tax, cheap insurance, excellent mpg.Disadvantages: Poor Gearbox, uncomfortable on long journeys. ...a mixed experience with my Toyota Aygo, first the good, its cheap to run being insurance group 1 and very cheap tax (£35 a year) and also does about 63mpg which is excellent, the sport model comes with 14" alloy wheels, spot lights, tachometer and has a 5 speed semi automatic gearbox. Around town this car is excellent, very nippy and easy to get into the tightest of parking spaces, it handles well, if your looking for a relatively cheap car to buzz ......the bad, first of all the gearbox is not great, it has been juddering pretty much from day one and is very slow in gear change in the economic/auto mode. Also this car is not great if you plan on doing a lot of motorway miles, the engine just does not have the power and its not the most comfortable car to sit in for any length of time unfortunately. I sat this car at a constant 60 miles an hour from edinburgh to the west coast of scotland, negtiating a few small towns on my journey, the car was incredibly nippy for such a small vehicle, i wasn't thrown about, the car took bumps in the road extremely well,and above all ......travelled 220 miles, with 2 bars still on the fuel gauge (it had previously been near empty). All in all, i can say that the build quality of the car is excellent, all the controls are exactly where i would personally like them to be, the gearbox is nice and tight, the clutch is light, with no effort needed in depressing it. There is plenty of legroom for most people, this car can take 4 people, 5 would definitely be a crush. It is easy to park, has excellent fuel economy, is comfortable and quiet. I have not had an accident so cannot comment on how good it is in an accident, with regard to safety. Nobody has broken into the car, although, I do live in a safe area. Furthermore, I have had no technical problems in 3 months of owning the car. It passed its one year MOT, with a perfect ......and power are limited but I believe that an Aygo is the best in its class. The only real problem is the clutch can be quite loud, even if you are smooth on it and I bought the car from new and have always found this. It accelerates quite slowly. All in all, if you want a small, fuel efficient car this would be a very good choice. Member since:10.10.2006 Reviews:6 I took this car on toyota's 2 day test-drive scheme, the salesperson was very helpful, even giving me 20 pounds worth of petrol to drive on...which of course i used up fully.I sat this car at a constant 60 miles an hour from edinburgh to the west coast of scotland, negtiating a few small towns on my journey, the car was incredibly nippy for such a small vehicle, i wasn't thrown about, the car took bumps in the road extremely well,and above all else when i returned in to the dealership, i had travelled 220 miles, with 2 bars still on the fuel gauge (it had previously been near empty). All in all, i can say that the build quality of the car is excellent, all the controls are exactly where i would personally like them to be, the gearbox is nice and tight, the clutch is light, with no effort needed in depressing it. There is plenty of legroom for most people, this car can take 4 people, 5 would definitely be a crush. The only thing it doesn't really have going for it is the incredible lack of bootspace...it would probably not even take a set of golf clubs! But for the most part i can have no complaints whatsoever of the experience, i wasn't even hounded by salespeople after i dropped the car off, they simply asked if i enjoyed it, and to drop back in if i wanted to sort out a deal with them...which i am currently considering! Report this review I purchased this because my family has always had Toyotas and never even had a bulb blow. Also, my Honda CRV was doing about 24mpg mixed driving so was costing me a fortune, I needed to do something! So on a run, mainly motorway and dual carriageway, I have had up to 76mpg and I have never had less than 55mpg running around town all the time. My sisters new Prius doesn't beat this (although she has more comfort). The suspension is a bit hard but the roads in and around Northampton are some of the worst in the Country. I can drive all day for 6 to 7 hours and no aches or pains and I am 6 foot and 250lbs. It will do 90mph in 3rd gear or cruise at 20mph in 5th gear, the engine is absolutely brilliant and very flexible being a triple (3 cylinder). It sounds amazing and being half a V6, its like some sort of WW2 Fighter dive bombing, awesome. My Wife just replaced the exhaust on her Yaris and it was the original one, after 11 years and 110,000 miles. Toyota parts aren't the cheapest but they last forever (well, almost). It's still on the original clutch by the way and my Wife does short journeys all the time. So as a summary, if you want stress free, comfortable driving with very cheap running costs (lowest insurance group and only £10/year road tax), then get an Aygo, I absolutely love mine and you get a 5 year warranty too. Report this review Bought my Toyota Aygo new in 9/05 and has needed a lot of work under warranty. 1.x2 new alternators 2.Water pump. 3.New power steering control unit. 4.New clutch at 35,000 miles due to parts failure of the original. All covered by Toyota warranty no quibbles. Would have cost a lot if not and has made me doubt the Toyota reliability label. Perhaps these parts were made in France!
