TOYOTA CELICA VVTL-I GT Thunder Grey
.
Here I am regretfully selling my absolute pride and joy!I have owned this car for just over 2 1/2 years and am just as excited getting in it today, as...>
I was the first day picking it up.Everything about the car is flawless and faultless. It comes with 2 previous owners, although the second owner (lady) only had it for around 3 months and decided it wasn`t for her. So really, I see myself as the second owner from new.It comes complete with FULL Toyota Service History, last service was 14/09/2011 and was the major 60,000 at £300 which included replacing the spark plugs.I have changed the lift bolts on the camshaft as a matter of caution, (not because they needed doing), and have the old bolts that were removed to hand as proof. All documented and carried out by Toyota at a cost of £100.I have also had the Tensioner and belt replaced in August at a cost of £250 which if you research, is the only thing that needs replacing on these cars.Because it has a chain instead of a cam-belt, this doesn`t need to be replaced.Rear brakes and pads were replaced august 2010 costing £260 The Front still have plenty of meat on them.**3 new tyres fitted**I have kept this car completely standard with no silly engine mods or massive sound systems, HOWEVER I have installed a £400 Alpine touch screen head unit with iPod connectivity to make your in car music library more extensive. It also has a £150 Bluetooth connection kit plugged into the back allowing for complete hands free calling through the cars speakers, while your mobile remains in your pocket. (Providing your mobile supports Bluetooth).Original headunit is boxed if the alpine is not to your taste.**Tomtom iPhone unit in picture is not included in the sale**She is cleaned regularly and maintained whatever the cost.6 speed gearboxClimate ControlTrip computerElectric windowsElectric/heated mirrorsFog lightsCelica doors sillsCelica Door matsCelica chair covers x 2 (which have been on for 80% of my ownership of the car, to protect the lovely leather/Alcantara sport seats that have `GT` marked into them).Everything Genuine, no cheap Halfords/eBay rubbish.MOT expires August 2012Taxed until 30/05/2012HPI clear, with my own £30 HPI report I purchased when I bought the car. This is a genuine sale from a genuine enthusiast, and I will be very sad to see her go.Viewing is available on request, but you will have to provide proof of fully comprehensive insurance before getting behind the wheel. No overseas buyers, no tyre kickers and if you are under 25, I will have to drive for insurance reasons unless you can provide a 1 day insurance certificate. The first to see I am sure will buy.If there is anything you think of that I may have missed, please feel free to drop me an email and I will do my best to answer.Mileage WILL go up as I use her on a daily basis to commute to work which reminds me to mention her mileage is mainly motorway as I drive up and down the length of the A27 daily! This is the main reason for sale as a diesel would make more sense. However if I don`t get the right offer, she will continue to drive me to work and back.Anyone who has under 10 feedback, please contact me before putting an offer forward.I will not tolerate time wasters!More pictures are available on request.Thank you for looking.Dan**UPDATE**I have very recently dropped something onto the rear bumper causing a very small dent. Please see picture to see how small it really is.The bumper is made from plastic so will not rust or get worse over time.I have dropped the price by £500 to reflect this. 1994 TOYOTA CELICA GT 2.0 SILVER, GENUINE LOW MILAGE
.
| *** Please only make an offer if you`re intending to complete the sale ***NO TYREKICKERS AND TIMEWASTERS! | Hi there, I’m selling my beloved Toyota...>
Celica as due to a change of job I need a bigger estate car. | This is a very reluctant sale as it’s the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. It may be quite old (1994) but the gearbox is super-smooth and it starts first time, every time. | It’s been well looked after and is very clean inside and out. One of the most reliable and inexpensive sports coupés you can get your paws on. | This is the Japanese Import model ST202, with an automatic 2.0 litre 16 valve, 175BHP petrol engine. Current mileage is 75,700 miles (confirmed by MOT certificates). The milage will change slightly as the car is used every day. | Year of manufacture was 1994 and year this vehicle was first registered in the UK was 1999, so had been driven in Japan for the first 5 years of its life. | - Super-smooth auto gearbox with overdrive – perfect for motorway driving | - Excellent AirCon – great for summer! | - New oil and oil filter (600 miles ago) | - New air filter (a year ago) | - New front tyres (two months ago) | - New front brake pads (year ago) | - New wiper blades | - New Sonda Lambda sensor (a year ago) | - Long MOT – till March 2013 | - Road Tax till July 2012 | - Three keys | - CD changer | - HPI clear | The car has motorized electric wing mirrors which can be ‘folded in’ at the push of a button when parking or moving through a tight spot. It comes with all the paperwork it should, including V5 logbook. | As you can see in the pictures, although the car is in very clean condition, it does suffer from age related marks - there is some rust coming out on the rear left hand side arch and there are some scratches here and there. | Please note that all of the above defects have been taken into consideration in the price. There is no buy it now price, but the car is also advertised locally for £700 so it can be withdrawn from the auction anytime. | Please email with any questions or call/text 07586295813 to arrange a viewing and test-drive. | Feel free to make a sensible offer. | No swaps. | Cash on collection please. | Winner to send £50 deposit after auction end. | Buyer to collect the car within 2 days of auction ending. | Bidders with less than 5 positive feedback to contact before bidding otherwise will be removed. | Thanks for looking and happy bidding. | X

1992 TOYOTA MR2 GT BLACK (In need of some repairs...)
.
| You are bidding on my Toyota MR2 which I am reluctantly selling due to simply not having the time and money to get her back to her former glory... |...>
I bought her 3 months ago with the intent to get her through the MOT by April, as we see April has come and gone and I`m still no further to my goal, hence the sale... | I was able to fit her with a new windshield however. | It is the GTS Turbo, with air intake from the engine, and turbo gauges on the dash, all of which are in working order, as is the lap timer to the right of the steering wheel... | It starts and runs first time everytime with no problems, and sounds beautiful! | Now for the bad bits :( | There is a slight oil leak i noticed after having the car still for a few days, with a possible gearbox leak too, (although this may just be me making a mistake) best to make sure tho, | the speedometer has failed yet all other dials work fine (guessing its just a loose connection?) | As I shown on the images, there is some rust around the drivers rear side wheel arch, | A larger than average hole where the ariel is, | a tear on the drivers seat, | And slight scuffs and dents on the bonnet... | To the best of my knowledge this seems to be the lot... | This is a great fun car, with a high adrenaline thump! | If your feeling like spending a bit of time to make this MR2 Turbo your own, feel free to call me on 07557819161 | John... | X

3 owners from new - The first owner from 04/02/96 – 26/05/98 the second owner 26/05/98 – 08/04/05 then I have owned the car since 08/04/05. I had an HPI check done which I still have so I know the car is straight. She is still a great drive with smooth gearbox/clutch action and I had a new genuine Toyota `Aisin` clutch fitted at 96,700 miles. The car drives as good as when I first purchased the car with 64,000 recorded miles! | Only modifications are alloy wheels and stainless steel exhaust back box. The alloys are 17” inch Antera which cost £1200 when the previous keeper put them on. They are unusual in that the valves are hidden behind the centre cap covers so less chance anyone will tamper with them. I think they are lovely wheels and it would be worth getting them refurbished to look pristine. I recently got a quote of £40 per wheel to get this done. If you check on any website selling Antera alloys they are priced on average at £350 per wheel so worth the money to get the refurbishment done. In regard to the tyres 3 of them are as new and not been on long the forth has 2-3 mm of tread remaining. The spare is the original space saver which is also as new as it has only been used in emergency once. | Considering the age of the car it is still in good condition and the only reason I am selling is that I have purchased a 2003 Celica T Sport. If I had the garage space to keep 2 cars I would not be selling! I have been alternating between the 2 cars and yes the T Sport is a rapid car, but my 2.0 GT is no slouch and still quick off the mark at traffic lights etc. | I have all the original welcome pack wallet and original documents - Service book, user manual, radio instruction book, all the MOT certificates, full set of 3 keys and original genuine Celica car mats! | She has 126,900 recorded miles and comes with a comprehensive service history. Toyota dealer servicing as follows - 15/03/96 – 818 miles, 08/11/96 – 9,147 miles, 07/08/97 – 15,441 miles, 20/05/98 - 22,700 miles, 17/02/99 - 29,303 miles, 09/02/00 - 35,093 miles, 20/02/01 - 39,743 miles, 18/02/02 - 46,863 miles, 21/03/03 - 52,895 miles, 08/03/04 - 58,485 miles, 13/04/05 - 65,112 miles, 09/03/06 - 74,694 miles, and 06/03/07 - 83,664 miles. | Then on 22/06/10 and 110,825 miles Toyota service as the car was cutting out at idle speed. This was cured by replacing the Spark Plugs/HT lead set, Distributor Cap, Rotor Arm, Timing Belt, Belt Tensioner, Rocker Cover Gasket & Oil and filter change. Since then my local independent garage has looked after the car but I still take the car to Toyota for certain jobs. | I recently had a new genuine Toyota battery fitted by Toyota Stafford (February 2012) – guaranteed for 3 years. I have also replaced the electric aerial and motor so the aerial fully retracts as it should. The radio/cassette/CD is the original one fitted when the car was new. | She is finished in metallic turquoise and considering the paint finish is original and now 16 years old it still looks good. | The car went through the MOT no problems or advisory notices. My mechanic did say she will need new brake discs definitely before the next MOT is due. He put 2 tyres on for the MOT but it he is not a tyre garage and I am pretty sure he did not balance the wheels. They could do with being balanced as I am getting a bit of steering wheel vibration at certain speeds. I have mentioned changing the brake discs as I feel this job should be done sooner rather than later for more efficient braking. | The car has a full MOT that expires on 09th March 2013 and is taxed until 31ST October 2012. The seats are original with no tears and still in good condition. | There is no HPI outstanding and the car is has not been involved in any road traffic accidents. | I would prefer cash on collection although you can pay by PayPal if you prefer. However, I have been as honest as possible so please bid what you are prepared to pay. I will not negotiate the agreed price on the day of collection. | BID WITH CONFIDENCE - If the winning bidder does not agree with my description or does not like the car I will not try to hold them to the usual bid/buy agreement. I will just relist the car and explain the situation to Ebay without giving negative feedback etc. However, you are quite welcome to come and inspect the car before you bid – just email me your mobile number and I will call you to arrange a viewing. | Thanks for looking and good luck. | On 09-May-12 at 10:08:19 BST, seller added the following information: | X

Auction For My Toyota Celica GT Re-listed due to time waster !I bought this car a little over a year ago as a stop gap between cars and it has proved such...>
a reliable car i ended up keeping it. The car has been used on a 60 mile round trip daily for the last 10 months and has never let me down. All i have ever had to replace on this celica has been spark plugs and tyres. The spark plugs were done just a month ago and the ones taken off where the original 1995 ones! since having the car i have changed front tyres and recently replaced the offside rear, the remaining rear has over 2mm of tread so is legal and will pass an mot.The only reason for sale is i personally have 3 cars at the moment and the household in all has 7 !! and we just don`t have room for all of them and i don`t need 3 cars !The car benefits from:- Tax for another 2 months-17"alloy wheels-Cd Player-Electric sunroof-Electric sunroof- Sports Exhaust - Not to loud but makes a nice rumble. -Expensive uprated clutch (5months old)This car`s interior is in great condition , the seats are in near perfect condition and the interior as a whole looks half its age if that. The only thing that lets this car down is the nearside paint. In certain places on the nearside the paint needs some attention. (see picture) I have never been bothered by this and is the only thing stopping this car from being a really tidy car. This car starts every-time come snow rain or shine , it has always been very good on fuel and if the mood takes you pulls like a train and will keep up with cars worth 10 times as much. The cars MOT runs out Wednesday 9th and I know the car will sail through its next test. If the buy-it-now price is reached i will happily put another years ticket on it for the new owner. I think the auction price is very fair and will consider sensible offers. Please contact via mobile. Please Call 07792522164The car is located in Braintree , Essex. Viewing any time. Advertised elsewhere so may end auction early.Cash on collection. Thanks for looking £750 ono X

1997 TOYOTA MR2 GT TBAR 16V 1OTH ANIVERSARY IN AZURE BLUE
.
1997 MR2 GT TBAR 16V 10 ANIVERSARY IN RARE AZURE BLUE FOR SALE I am reluctantly selling my much loved Toyota MR2. I have owned this car for about the last...>
10 months, and it has been a joy to drive. I am leaving the country shortly and when I return will have a company car so I cannot justify the extra exspense of owning it.The car is mostly factory standard. The only additions are a powerflow stainless steel back box and exhaust and an after market CD player. I also had two new front tires fitted las month. The timing belt was changed at around 70000 miles and it had a new clutch fitted at around 94000 miles. There is a knocking/clunking sound which has developed over the past few months, which I have been told is worn suspension top mounts and anti roll bar links. The alarm key fod has stopped working. Distance to unlock the car became shorter and shorter over time (maybe just the battery has run down in the key fob?)The body work is in good condition apart from a small dent in the passenger wing and scrape/small paint crack on the bumper (both pictured) I bought two new front wings as spares but never got to fit them. These will be included with the sale. There is a bit of rust developing on the drivers side sideskirt (in picture) and a small part has broken off of the drivers wing mirror (still have the part) again, can be seen in the picture. The interior is in good condition apart from some stitching on the passenger seat back rest which has come away. The car has an MOT until 5th june 2012 and is taxed till the end of the month. As there are bits that need doing to it to get it back to its best and the MOT runs out early next month I am putting it on a 7 day auction with a low reserve. If you have any questions then please ask and I will do my best to answer them.Your welcome to come and view the car within the auction time. Please note though that the winning bidder will need to collect the car before monday 28th may as I will not be in the country after this date. Upon winning a £100 non refundable deposit will have to be paid, with the remainder be paid on collection. Happy bidding and good luck. X

Home Sad Farewell To Our Fellow Member - Charlie Stott November 9th, 2010 It is with deep regret that we have learned of the passing of fellow Toyota GT Turbo community member Charlie Stott, Chimp. It is always very sad to hear a fellow enthusiast is no longer with us and especially someone so good natured and positive. Looking at Charlie’s facebook page his interests include “helping others” and this is proved to be genuine when you read through his posts here on our forum. At just 30 years old Charles succumbed to cancer and passed away on 26th of September. Chimp has been a member of toyotagtturbo.com for a few years now and many of his posts on the forum were jokes and words of encouragement. He once reassured a member who was second guessing his mechanical ability and told him – “at least you had the balls to try and figure it out yourself, I don’t think there is anyone that works on their own car that hasn’t mis-diagnosed a fault and ended up with a box full of bits for no reason…… I know I have…. Several times”. In some more posts he expresses his regret at selling his GT and vowed to get back behind the wheel of one. You can read some more of Charlie’s posts here – CLICK Chimp last logged on to the site on 31st August, below is his Avatar which may stir up some memories for you all. It raced in the 1998 1998 and 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans. Contents 1 History 2 Racing results 3 Chassis 4 Technical Data 5 External links 6 Notes and references 7 See Also 8 External links History Following the end of the Group C era around 1994, Toyota decided to alter its plans in sports car racing by moving to the production-based GT classes for 1995. Toyota decided to approach this in two ways by using two different styles of car for competition. The first was a heavily modified Toyota Supra, referred to as the Supra LM, which would use a turbocharged inline-4. The second entry was a custom built car designed specifically to be a racing car, yet required a small number of production cars for sale in order to meet homologation regulations. This car was modified heavily from the Toyota MR2, and became known as the SARD MC8-R. The MC8-R would use a custom built Toyota turbocharged V8. While the Supra performed admirably in 1995, the MC8-R would appear superior for 1996. With development of high powered supercars for the GT classes at the time, Toyota decided that a car similar to the MC8-R, which was intended as a race car first, would be better suited to continuing Toyota's development of a GT car. Thus Toyota announced they would skip the 1997 24 Hours of Le Mans to be able to develop their new GT car for 1998. Turning to Toyota's European arm based in Cologne, Germany, Toyota Team Europe (TTE) was charged with development of the new GT car. With taking the one-year hiatus, TTE was able to look at what the competition was developing for the GT class, and exploit it to their benefit. In 1997, both the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR and the Porsche 911 GT1 were dominant cars in their class that exploited loop holes in the rules in place at the time. Each car was a custom built super car of which only a small handful of production cars were built to homologate it. TTE realized that they would actually only need to build a single production car in order to meet homologation regulations, thus allowing TTE to have a car that would never truly be sold to a customer, meaning that any driver luxuries could be left out. Second, Toyota learned about a loophole which Mercedes-Benz had exploited. All GT based cars were required to have storage space, capable of holding a standard sized suitcase, in order for the car to be considered not only production based, but usable by the public. Mercedes exploited this by putting a small cubby hole into an unused area underneath the rear bodywork, although it was not as easy to access as a normal trunk. Toyota, in their interpretation of the rules, were able to convince Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) officials that the car's fuel tank, normally empty when the car is scrutineered before the race, was allowable as a trunk space since it could, theoretically, hold a suitcase. With these loopholes in place, TTE was able to set out in laying-out the GT-One. TTE designed and manufactured the car's carbon fiber chassis and bodywork in-house, while Toyota supplied an upgraded version of the engine they originally used on their Group C cars, the R36V 3.6L Turbo V8. TTE also developed the lone GT-One road car, painted red and fitted with a basic interior, and it was quickly put into a museum in Japan, having served the purpose of merely existing. Racing results Introduced in time for Le Mans in 1998, the GT-One first appeared at the official testing days for the race held in May. Three GT-Ones appeared, setting the 2nd, 5th, and 10th best times, easily beating out custom built prototypes which were meant to be the superior class. For the race week itself, all three cars performed admirably in qualifying by continuing their quick pace, qualifying 2nd, 7th, and 8th, being beaten only by their GT class competitor, Mercedes-Benz. For the race itself, the GT-One unfortunately suffered. GT-One #28 suffered from a high speed accident halfway through the race, taking it out of competition. The two other entrants continued to fight on, both remaining in the top 10. However, within the closing hours, the higher ranked GT-One #29 suffered a gearbox failure while in competition for the race win. Thus Toyota was left to take 9th place in the race with the lone #27 entry, which ended the race 25 laps behind the winning Porsche 911 GT1. Following the success of the GT1 class as a whole over Le Mans prototypes, the ACO and FIA moved to change the regulations for the GT classes, requiring a large amount of production vehicles for the GT classes, thus eliminating the original loopholes in the system. Thus Toyota was forced to make changes to the GT-One, as were all its competitors in the class. Mercedes-Benz opted to evolve their CLK-GTR into the new custom built CLR in the closed cockpit GTP class, while Nissan and Panoz opted for open cockpit LMPs. Porsche dropped out of competition altogether. Newcomer Audi decided to build cars for both the GTP and LMP classes, while BMW continued in the LMP class as before. Toyota decided to follow the route of Mercedes and evolve the GT-One into a GTP class prototype. Although the CLK-GTR required extensive modifications to become the CLR, the GT-One was already close enough to a prototype that extensive redesign was not needed. Toyota began an extensive testing program, including a long distance test at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium soon after a snowfall. In the official testing session at Le Mans, the GT-Ones were again fast, taking the 1st, 3rd, and 5th fastest lap times. This pace continued in qualifying for the race, as the three GT-Ones took 1st, 2nd, and 8th positions. Throughout the race the GT-Ones battled for the lead, having it switch multiple times amongst the top competitors. Unfortunately the GT-One was suffering from failures of its Michelin tires throughout the race, mostly caused by sharp gravel which had been accidentally brought onto the racing surface by other cars. The design of the GT-One's wheel wells allowed for a blown tire to cause extensive damage to the mechanical linkages inside. Thus after only 90 laps the first GT-One was lost when it suffered an explosive tire puncture and was damaged beyond repair, unable to return to the pits and abandoned on the track. Halfway into the event, another GT-One was lost in a tire puncture that led to a high speed accident, destroying the car. This left the team with only car #3, which was still running at the top of the field. At this point a large amount of the competition had been eliminated, with all Mercedes out of the race due to their famous accident and withdrawal. Audi had also lost two of their four cars, and Nissan had lost their factory backed R391, although an older Courage C52 campaigned by the team was still active. BMW and Panoz were the only teams continuing without major problems. During the final hour of the race, the lone GT-One was leading the race, just ahead of a BMW and two Audis. While lapping traffic the GT-One suffered a tire failure, and was forced to slowly make its way around the track to return to the pits for a new set. In the process the GT-One lost the lead, and thus lost the race. The lone GT-One would come home 2nd overall, one lap behind the winning BMW. As a consolation prize, the GT-One would win the GTP class, although it was the only car in the class to actually finish. The GT-One would race only once more, a single entrant appearing in the 1999 Le Mans Fuji 1000km. Although the race mostly consisted of Japanese teams, thus leaving out most of the manufacturers that had competed at Le Mans, Toyota still had to compete against rival Nissan, who also entered their R391. In the end the GT-One would fall short once again, finishing 2nd and only one lap behind the winning R391. The GT-One program would not be continued into 2000, Toyota instead turning TTE into leaders of the new Toyota F1 team. This would mark the end of Toyota's attempts at Le Mans, which had started in 1985. The GT-One was sponsored by Marlboro in 1999 (Hence the white chevron with red body)despite the anti-tobacco laws in france which meant no Marlboro logos appeared on the car anywhere. In the first picture, you can see the Marlboro barcode which appeared on the Ferrari F1 cars during tobacco legislated grand prix. This didn't appear on the final race car either, though. Other sponsors included Esso, Michelin and ZENT. Chassis A total of seven GT-Ones were built in total over the two years of the program. The first six were built in 1998, while the final chassis was built in 1999. LM801 - Developmental prototype, never raced. LM802 - 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans #29, later a test car. LM803 - Road legal version of the GT-One, on display in Europe. LM804 - 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans #28, 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans #3, later on display in Japan. LM805 - 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans #27, later a test car. LM806 - 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans #2. LM907 - 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans #1.
