Toyota Picnic GLS 98 ‘S’ Re-Listed due to time waster `elaineabimbola123` who didn`t even bother to see car, never mind pay! Rare 7 Seater UK car, ...> not a grey import as a lot of these are. Metallic Blue over Silver We have had this car for 4years and it’s been brilliant, very reliable we have never had any problems, typical Toyota reliability! In the time we have had it, apart from routine servicing, it’s had two tyres (2010) (all four are good though); rear exhaust (2010); and this year a battery. 4 mot’s: only ever needing one tyre, flew mot again this year in late Oct. My wife loves it because its a full 7 seater but is not very big so easy to park and drive, its not much bigger than an estate car. It has two previous owners the owner before us had it from 2001, and it has full Toyota SH to 2007. The body work has scratches, battle scars and dents – we haven’t had it tarted up preferring it to be an ‘honest’ car but a couple of hundred pounds should see it minted. See pics. There is no rust. Inside is good, the seats are free from rips/burns, and are very comfortable. It’s really nice and smooth to drive. Electric windows all round Twin sunroof (rear big one electric) Electric mirrors Front fog lights Rear heaters (middle and rear rows!!!) Tow bar -we had it fitted to tow a small trailer a few times, and a caravan twice. FTSH to 73K Door ajar warning light (very useful with kids!) Cup holders throughout Loads of storage compartments/bins Middle and rear interior lights and two front map reading lights Drivers override control of windows (including turning other switches off when the kids are messing about) Drivers central lock switch to lock all the doors at the push of a button Radio/Cassette with 6 CD changer Middle row of seats slides back and forth, back rests 50/50 split and can be reclined/back rest adjusted/folded flat individually Rear two seats can be removed individually, or recline/fold forward flat Rear seats are full size (but not too heavy to easily remove/put in), each has a side cup holder and storage compartment (great for travel toys!) 12V power supply for rear seats Reasonable boot for this type of mpv (fits a bugaboo/phil&teds pram in with space for bags on top) ABS Full size spare wheel Would make an ideal cheap family car or small `van` Payment: Cash/Cheque/bankers draft on collection (cheque funds will need to clear before release of car), bankers draft once bank has confirmed genuine £100 deposit via pay pal within 24hrs of sale. no timewasters/tyre kickers/canvassers. anyone who messes we will report to ebay If you have less than 5 feedback please contact first, 07435567340 or your offer we be removed. I have never like the fact the Toyota cars all have the same “look” even though they are built 10 years apart. I dismissed the Picnic because of it’s bolted down seats 6-7 and for dated looks. But when I came across a newly imported grey market Ipsum I saw that I would get the Zafira’s flex seven seating system (Toyota had build it’s own system 3 ... ...of the rear boot). So far after three years of ownership we have had to replace the original battery (we have a P reg 1996). That is it. I just wish Toyota would include this seating system in the AvenisVerso MPV range and really compete with the likes of Vauxhall. ... The car has huge miles (145000) and a full dealer service history. I cant fault the reliability as in 2 years the car has only once developed a fault and this was in the electronics - this is where the experience gets tricky. Sourcing these cars in breakers etc. is very difficult and this makes parts expensive. If you can find a breaker who has one they are usually as expensive as a new part due to the scarcity ... ...(mine averages 26mpg!) the car is great for running kids to school and when the rear seats are removed (only the rear 2) there is a decent sized boot - of course with all the seats in place there is no luggage room but this is the same as all MPV's. In conclusion, if you can get a good one with a service history (never mind the mileage as they will go forever) and its the right price - buy it. However my advice is to BUY A DIESEL! The car seems to have a reasonably low centre of gravity, and is quite narrow, and it handles much more like a car than a typical people carrier. It is certainly nippy, and it drinks less petrol than the 1.8 Ford. As far as seats are concerned it is more like an estate, with the third row removeable. The central bench seat though slides back and forward on runners to set back and front leg ... ...the bench folded down and the rear seats out, the carrying capacity is huge. Alternatively it will carry six adults and a child in comfort. For a family it has innumerable cup holders, toy boxes etc, and auxiliary 12v power sockets in the rear to run I don't know what. I've heard the car described as being rather noisy at motorway speeds, I have to say its never seemed a problem to me. If it was a simple gas pedal problem they would not have stopped sales over it. how often do people slam down the pedal to full throttle (especially in Camrys)? They're saying people are hitting the gas full throttle and then are caught off guard by the acceleration. they really need to fix the drive-by-wire.
